Schedule: 1 FTE (40 hours/week) 

12-month contract with a high possibility of extension.

What you'll be doing 

We are looking for an experienced IT Risk Analyst with expertise in Kubernetes to join our dynamic team with one of the biggest players in finance in the country. In this role, you will strengthen the organisation’s security posture by assessing risks, supporting audits, improving internal controls, and ensuring systems and processes are protected against potential cyber threats. You will work closely with IT, audit, and various business teams to identify risks, define remediation plans, and ensure security standards are met across the organisation. 

How you'll spend your day 

  • Support security risk assessments across different areas of the organisation.
  • Prepare reports on security breaches, including impact analysis and recommended actions.
  • Engage with IT service providers, audit teams, and process owners to define mitigation and remediation plans.
  • Research current information security trends and recommend the use of modern technologies to enhance protection.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining security standards, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Provide recommendations on security improvements to management and senior stakeholders.
  • Perform regular testing, including simulated attack scenarios, to identify vulnerabilities.
  • Communicate audit findings, testing results, and evidence requirements to stakeholders.
  • Track timelines for agreed action plans and monitor progress on remediation.
  • Maintain the IT risk register and monitor changes, new risks, and third-party risks.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and how they can support better security practices.

You'll be successful if you have 

  • A strong understanding of computer networks, database administration, and internet security.
  • A degree in IT engineering, IT auditing, cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in IT risk management, information security, or compliance.
  • Knowledge of IT standards, regulations, and security frameworks.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working with internal audits, risk registers, and remediation processes.
  • Professional certifications such as CISA, CISM, CRISC, CISSP, ITIL, or ISO 27001 (advantage).
