What you'll be doing
In this role, you’ll act as a go-to expert within the team - supporting colleagues, guiding design decisions, and contributing to the continuous development of complex Java-based systems. You’ll balance working with new features and maintaining legacy code, ensuring long-term stability and usability.
How you’ll spend your day
Develop, maintain, and optimise applications using Java (with a focus on Java Swing).
Take ownership of important design decisions and system architecture aspects.
Support and mentor team members by sharing expertise and best practices.
Quickly adapt to and work effectively with complex and legacy codebases.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
Contribute ideas to improve usability and overall UX design.
You'll be successful if you have
5+ years of experience in Java development.
Hands-on experience with Java Swing (preferred).
Strong programming skills with the ability to make critical design decisions.
Ability to work independently, while also being a supportive team player.
Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to take on challenges.
Nice to have
Experience in database development.
Interest or skills in user-friendliness and UX design.
