Location: Philippines (remote)

Schedule: 1 FTE (40 hours/week)

Working hours: Business hours in CET (Central European Time Zone) for the 1st 2 months. Flexible starting on the 3rd month.

What you'll be doing

Our client for this role is a company from the Netherlands that builds the data infrastructure for legal intelligence. Legal information is public, but fragmented, low-quality, and not usable for AI or cross-border research. Our client company aggregates, enriches, and structures legal data across jurisdictions, making it accessible via a platform and API. They work with Big Four firms, governments, law firms, universities, and legal tech companies. Their ambition is to become the global backbone of legal knowledge.  

We are looking for a Data Engineer focused on expanding and maintaining our client data coverage. This is a hands-on role. You will be responsible for connecting new data sources to our client company and ensuring they are reliably integrated into their pipelines. Our clietn have a large and growing list of sources to onboard. Your role is to turn these into stable, recurring data flows that continuously deliver fresh, structured data. 

How you’ll spend your day

• Data ingestion and integration
  Connect new data sources through APIs or scraping, transform them into our data model, and
  ensure they are reliably integrated into our pipelines.
• Automation and reliability
  Build and maintain recurring pipelines that keep data up to date, monitor performance, and ensure
  stability across all connected sources.
• Data quality and structure
  Ensure incoming data meets our quality standards, is properly structured, and fits seamlessly into
  our existing datasets.
• Scalability and maintenance
  Continuously improve and maintain existing integrations, making them robust, reusable, and easy
  to extend as we scale coverage.

You'll be successful if you have

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering or backend development.
• Strong experience with Python in production environments.
• Proven experience with web scraping and API integrations.
• Experience with Databricks or similar data platforms.
• Ability to work pragmatically and deliver at a fast and steady pace.
• Fluent in English.
• High ownership and ability to work independently in a remote setup.
